Remove EXIF Data Online — GPS, Camera and Date, Removed Losslessly
See what your photo is carrying — camera model, timestamps, and GPS coordinates — then strip it all without re-encoding the image. Pixels stay bit-for-bit identical.
- Drop your JPEGs, or click Select files.
- Pick a quality, press Compress, then compare and download.

How it works
Everything runs inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your images are never uploaded, so there is no server to be slow, no queue, and no file limit per day.
How to compress images — step by step A walk-through with the numbers: what quality actually does, when to strip metadata, and how to hit an exact file size. Guides →Your colour detail stays intact
JPEG stores colour at a lower resolution than brightness — that is what "chroma subsampling" means. Most tools quietly downgrade every file to save a few bytes. We read each file's original sampling and write it back unchanged, so colours do not degrade a second time.
Lossless optimisation, when it applies
If a file is already compressed, re-encoding it wastes quality for almost no gain. Two things still help and cost nothing at all: stripping metadata (EXIF, GPS, ICC) and rewriting the entropy layer with optimised Huffman tables. Both leave every decoded pixel bit-for-bit identical.
Why compression sometimes makes a file bigger
Re-encoding an already-compressed file at a higher quality setting asks the encoder to reproduce detail that is no longer there — so it spends bits describing the previous compression, and the file grows. Our rule is simple: if the result would not be smaller, you get your original back unchanged, with a note explaining why.
Compressing to an exact size
Target size is a search, not a setting. We bisect the quality scale and report the largest quality that still fits, then confirm that one step higher would exceed it. If no quality can reach your target, we shrink the image instead — because a small file is usually about pixel count, not about squeezing harder.
Privacy and security
No uploads, no accounts, no analytics of your images, no retention. Files are processed in your browser's memory and disappear when you close the tab. Metadata you choose to strip is removed without re-encoding the image, so nothing about the picture changes.
Free and unlimited
No registration, no daily limit, no watermark. Compress as many images as you like. If it saves you time, that is the whole point.
